Welcome

curry

Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year. It is truly an honor to continue to serve as the principal of Veterans Memorial Middle School. I have been proud to lead the staff and students at Veterans for the past six years. I believe in the Newton County School System. As a parent  of a child being educated in this system; I know the importance of ensuring that our students  receive a quality education daily.

The mission of the Newton County School System is to provide educational excellence for all students and that is our goal at Veterans. We work to live up to the district's mission by giving students every opportunity possible to be successful. We are Accountable, Respectful and Engaged. We strive to be accountable  in our work ethic, respectful in how we treat each other, and engaged in all that we do. Veterans' students have numerous opportunities to be successful. We offer  several afterschool programs throughout the school year. In addition, our students  have multiple extra-curricular activities to engage in throughout the school year.

I am here to support the students, parents, and staff. Parents, this will be an exciting year for our students. I believe that it is important for students to gain an abundance of academic knowledge and have fun while doing so. I want students  to love learning, engage with their peers, participate in clubs and sports that  we offer as well as put their academics first. In addition, safety must be a priority at Veterans. We have safety protocols  in place to keep our students  safe. We ask that you please

encourage your students to say something to an adult if they see or hear something that can be a safety

concern. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached at [email protected]. I would like to thank of you in advance for your support of Veterans this school year.

Sincerely,

 signature
