To the Veterans Memorial Middle School Families,
Hello,I am Dr. Curry the principal here at Veterans Memorial Middle School. I want to take this opportunity to welcome each of you to the 2020-2021school year. I know that this year will be unlike any other but together we can make this an awesome year. I believe in looking for the positive in every situation and the positive at Veterans is that we have staff members that are ready to provide a quality learning experience for every student.
In order to make this a successful year we need each student to login every day and be engaged in the learning. Our students need to ask for support when needed and complete their assignments in the time frame given by the teacher. Parents it is imperative that our students are held accountable and encouraged to put forth their best effort at all times.
We will take daily attendance through the Canvas platform each day. Parents attendance is vital in the learning process. We will continue to document attendance in Infinite Campus and send out letters for students that do not attend virtual learning classes. Students will receive grades for their assignments. Progress reports and report cards will be distributed. We want this year to be as normal as possible so we will continue our same practices.
Parents we have students participating in virtual learning and self-pace learning. We will have supports in place for our self-pace students. A link will be placed on our website for students that need support in the self-pace model.
Parents and students, we are here to support you this year. We need to work together to ensure student success. Please be patient and flexible as it will take some time to adjust to our new way of learning.
